QUERCUS rubra

A spreading, fast growing, deciduous tree with smooth, dark brownishgrey bark. Its leaves are elliptic and alternate with the edged with dentate and pointed lobes. They are silky at the apex and of a dark green colour which turns reddish-orange and scarlet in autumn.
