A vigorous, spreading, deciduous tree with aromatic, pennate leaves up to 30 cm long made up of from 5 to 10 shiny, elliptically-ovate, initiallypurplish- bronze leaves which then turn green. It bears spherical, edible fruit from 3 to 5 cm in length.
