VITIS vinifera

Description

A genus including about 65 species of tendril-bearing, woody, deciduous, climbing plants whose bark exfoliates with age. It has alternate, simpleto-lobed, light-green-to-dark-green leaves and it produces tiny, green flowers that blossom in panicles during the summer which are followed by edible bunches of fruit which can be used to produce wine.
