SCHINUS molle
Description
A spreading, deciduous tree with curved, pennate leaves made up of from 20 to 40 green to deep-green leaflets. These leaflets are shiny, lanceolate and dentate. From the end of winter up to the following summer it bears small simple, yellowish-white flowers gathered together in reclinate panicles, followed by berry-like, pink fruit. The smell of the leaves and the shape of the fruit bring the pepper plant to mind.
