PRUNUS cerasifera ‘Nigra’

Description

A shrub or small tree at first upright and conical and then irregularly rounded in shape. Its alternate, elliptical-egg-shaped leaves are an amalgam of brown, red and purple. It produces luminous-pink flowers 2 cm in diameter a short time before the leaves come out.
