OLEA europaea
Description
A slow-growing, evergreen tree with smallish, lanceolate, greyish-green leaves which are a silvery light-grey on their undersides. In summer it produces panicles of fragrant, white flowers followed by green-to-purple, egg-shaped fruit whose size depends on the variety in question. It is used for the production of oil and is particularly decorative and longlived.
